We've heard for about two years now that Obama had campaigned in 2008 as a centrist. So why is it now that the left is in a tizzy over supposedly broken promises, threatening a primary challenge?
Gitmo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Single-payer health care, DADT, taxes...
So did Obama campaign on a lefty wet-dream list of promises? Or did he, as the media has so dutifully reported, campaign as a centrist?
It can't be both.
I think you know where I stand on that one.

It's almost shocking how they are reacting to the "bipartisanship" of the tax deal, isn't it? Haven't they been whining about how everything could be all unicorns and rainbows if it weren't for the party of No?
The Congressional Dems & the Dem base still haven't figured out that they lost an election. (Evidence: Nancy Pelosi is still in leadership.)
In principle I'm for a straight-up swap on unemployment benefits and the tax rate extension, but I'm still trying to figure out why we are claiming victory on a one-sided payroll tax holiday and ethanol subsidies.
Bipartisn = something nobody really likes.
