Quote of the Day: New York

From the NY Post's "I can't believe I'm sitting next to a Republican!: How to survive as a conservative in New York City":
My own little town, Hastings-on-Hudson, is in most ways as attractive as the name suggests, a leafy suburban enclave for the most part populated with kind-hearted and generous souls. But a word of warning: Don't get into politics. To say Hastings is liberal is like saying Saudi Arabia is Muslim.

I sat next to a psychoanalyst for a 5 hour flight once.

She was all rabidly left.

That was before we even starting talking.

Once we got into conversation, she was shocked at my POV. When I told her I've some stuff in National Review she didn't know what to do with herself.

Very nice lady, but lives in a liberal mind-ghetto.

Most of the people who only deal with other "leftists" aren't actually very leftist at all. They're the same brand of asshole as those people who only hang out with other "conservatives" - they don't actually have the beliefs, they just agree with whatever everyone else they know claims to believe. And they're more obnoxious about it because "how could anyone think any differently"
